The Integrated Personal Development System (IPDS) is due to be implemented from 7 November 2003. This has implications for the examinations system administered by the FSEB and the way individuals are assessed for competence and promotion.

The following information includes the DCOL/DFm letter issued on the Fire Services examinations and IPDS, the letters sent by the FSEB regarding the transitional arrangements, a Newsletter aimed at all potential candidates in the Fire Service (PDF for downloading purposes) and the joint statement issued by the FSEB and the IPDWG 6 May 2003.

You are also advised to look at Frequently Asked Questions regarding the transitional arrangements.
