The Fire Services Examinations Board meets twice a year in January and July. In accordance with Fire Services (Examinations) Regulations 1985 it has 22 members appointed, namely: the Chairman, Secretary of State (2), Scottish Ministers (2), Local Government Association (6), Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (3), the Chief of the Chief Fire Officers' Association (2), Fire Brigades Union (3), Institution of Fire Engineers (1), Fire Officers' Association (observers) (2).
The FSEB's Chairman is Her Majesty's Chief Inspector, Sir Graham Meldrum, CBE OStJ QFSM Duniv FIFireE CCMI.

Senior Examiners Workshop
Each October the FSEB arranges a workshop to enable all Senior Examiners, the National Assessor for the Practical Tests, and the Lead Assessor together with the FSEB Secretariat to discuss developments, changes and problems and to exchange experiences and ideas relating to the practical tests.
The following minutes reflect these discussions.
