This section is to aid the effective running of the promotion examinations for Brigade Staff dealing with these examinations. There are two important PDF files in this section, firstly the Administrative Memorandum which outlines the procedures for both written examinations and the practical test which make up the examination. This includes procedures from the entry stage all the way through to the notification of results and is a useful guide for administration staff at brigades. Secondly, the Examiner's Handbook is a guide for brigade staff involved in examining candidates in the practical test. The Examiner's Handbook has been updated to include revision pages dated October 2003 that relate to the 2004 Practical Tests. We would strongly advise the relevant brigade staff download these files on an annual basis as they are updated yearly (or whenever necessary) and treat them as a reference point. Examination Timetable and Important DatesThe examinations run on a cyclical basis with the dates being similar or the same every year. The following table is a useful guide to key administrative dates which are applicable for each year.
Sitting Dates for Written Examinations The following table shows the actual sitting dates for the written examinations in 2004, 2005 and 2006. They include the final re-sit examination dates that apply to the transitional arrangements.
